The parcel shelf
How a kit is packed
Every kit ships in its own printed carton, which is also the box the sheets sit in during the build. Sheets are stacked flat with the small-parts bags on top, the plexiglass is sleeved so it cannot scuff, and the battery pack is bagged separately from the wire.
Because the carton is printed and sturdy, most people who buy a kit as a gift do not wrap it at all.
Who carries it and when
Shipping, carriers, delivery windows and tracking are handled by our partner store. The order confirmation you receive there carries the tracking link, and their help desk can chase a parcel that has stopped moving.
If a carton arrives crushed, photograph it before you open it. That photograph is what gets a replacement sent quickly.
Before you start building
Open the carton over a tray rather than over a carpet, and check the sheet count against the first page of the booklet. Finding a missing sheet on day one is an email. Finding it on day six is an evening lost.
Keep the carton until the build is finished. It is the best place to store half-sorted parts between sessions.
