Flever Afternoon Tea Time — DIY Miniature Room Kit

$9.48

4.1 · 571 notes

Afternoon Tea Time is a tea corner: a two-tier stand of cakes, a pot and cups on a cloth, a chair pulled up and a window behind with the light coming through it. It is the most domestic of our small kits and the cheapest way into the series.

The cake stand is the piece people photograph; every item on it is formed separately. Construction is simple throughout and an evening is plenty. It ships with its own acrylic cover, so there is nothing else to buy before it can go on a shelf.

It sits at the lower end of this shelf of 35 room kits, builders have left it 4.1 out of five across 571 notes, and it is in stock as we write this.

We design every room the way we design our dollhouse kits: a story first, then the furniture that story needs, then the boxes of loose parts — flowers, jars, a folded newspaper — that make Afternoon Tea Time look lived in. Everything in this DIY miniature house kit is cut in our own workshop, and we build one before we pack any.

What arrives in your Flever miniature kit

  • Numbered sheets of laser-cut MDF and card for the walls, floor and furniture.
  • Fabric, printed paper, paper flowers and the small decorations that dress the room.
  • An LED light wire with a battery pack for the house lights.
  • Glue, tweezers, double-sided tape and a sanding stick.
  • A clear plexiglass dust cover for the open front.
  • A step-by-step booklet with a photograph for every stage.

How the DIY build goes

  1. Decide where it will stand first — a bookshelf gap, a desk corner or a display cabinet — and filter this shelf by the size that fits.
  2. Pick the scene you would like to look at every day rather than the one with the most parts; a simple room you finish beats a crowded one you abandon.
  3. If this is a first DIY kit, choose something under forty dollars and keep the ambitious house for the second build.

Every Flever room kit is designed, cut and packed by the same small workshop, and we build one of each ourselves before it ever goes on sale.

Notes from people who built it

“I bought this after putting together a book nook from a different company.”

“My bestie makes dollhouse miniatures and this was a bday gift to add to her collection. She really liked it. Recommend for anyone who makes dollhouses or as a gift if you know someone who does make them.”
